Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida takes pride in its involvement in
the community. We believe we have the responsibility to take an active role
in community-based activities. That's why we have consistently supported community
building programs like youth services, education, environmental research, the
arts and health related charities.
Responding to the needs of our community, we helped the town of Belle Glade purchase
a much-needed new fire engine and helped provide library books and new playground
equipment for the children in our area schools. Our priority has been providing
assistance to the local public and private schools. As the largest single employer
in Belle Glade, the Cooperative has an economic impact exceeding $285 million
annually.
We provide employment to more than 463 individuals full time and another 395
seasonally. Our annual payroll averages over $28 million a year.
